FOUNDER + PRESIDENT


Shari Bayer founded Bayer Public Relations with the vision of generating quality publicity for quality products. Particularly passionate about food and restaurants, Shari has focused on these fields, offering a personalized service to her clients, while maintaining a strong presence in the hospitality community.

Established in 2003, her company works with each client to not only meet their needs, but also exceed their expectations. Shari’s recent clients have included Central Park Boathouse (NYC), Au Za’atar (NYC), Periyali (NYC), Erik Bruner-Yang (Maketto, DC), Jim Lahey (Sullivan Street Bakery, NYC), Surbhi Sahni (Tagmo, NYC); Don Pham (Sushi Ishikawa, NYC), and Gumption Coffee (NYC); as well as Holiday Cocktail Lounge (NYC), The Chef’s Garden (OH), and Curious Elixirs.

Shari is also the host and producer of All in the Industry on Heritage Radio Network, a member-support podcast network, which is dedicated to the behind-the-scenes talent in the hospitality industry. With over 30 years of experience in “the industry” from Charlie Trotter’s to Food Arts, Shari loves having a platform to interview passionate professionals about their expertise.

Shari took her passion for hospitality and culinary industry to a new level with All in the Industry®, a new media and production company, launching H.O.S.T. SUMMIT + SOCIAL, an all-day, inspirational, interactive and educational conference for, and about, the dynamic hospitality industry. The inaugural event took place on January 27, 2020 at The William Vale in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC.

In Spring 2023, Shari’s first book, Chefwise, Life Lessons from Leading Chefs Around the World, was published by Phaidon. The book features 117 outstanding chefs worldwide, offering their inspiration, advice, and life lessons from both in and out of the kitchen.

A native of Miami, Florida, Shari earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Studies from The University of Michigan, and a Culinary Certificate from the Cooking Academy of Chicago. Shari studied abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy and attended NYU’s Graduate Food Studies program. She has been living in Manhattan since 1998.

Shari is a past president of the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance, and has been a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier NY since 2010, serving as a committee co-chair. She has been recognized in Total Food Service’s Top Women in Metro NY Foodservice & Hospitality, and Heritage Radio Network’s Hall of Fame. She is also a contributing writer for Fathom, Forbes, Tasting Table and Thrillist, and a fearless solo diner and traveler.
